What to wear / bring during an osteopathic session?

For an osteopathic session, it's best to wear comfortable clothing that allows for ease of movement and access to the areas of your body that may need to be examined or treated like athletic leggings / T-shirts…and easy to remove. You will be asked to remove your jewelry, belts and accessories and what you get in your pockets to ensure you are comfortable and that not interfere with the osteopathic examination. I also can ask to remove some clothing to assess specific areas of your body or to see some scar.

If you have forgotten your comfortable outfit, your osteopathic practitioner can provide shorts

Can your manual practitioner in Osteopathy direct bill?

Osteopathy is not regulated in Canada

Without regulatory recognition, osteopathic practitioners face barriers to participating in direct billing arrangements with insurance companies. However, most of insurance companies cover your osteopathic sessions, check on your coverage. Currently, I email you the receipt right away after the session, so you can submit it immediately to get the reimbursement. Our professional association OsteopathyBC board is working hardly with the ones from the other provinces to negotiate for the recognition of our profession and in the meantime for the coverage by Insurance companies.
